Premier paper brand wins The Best Brand of The Brand Laureate Awards – the World’s First e-Branding Award by The World Brands Foundation
Malaysia, 18th August 2020 – IK Yellow was lauded at The Brand Laureate’s The World’s First e-Branding Awards 2020, held live broadcasted on their Facebook Page on 3 August 2020. The premium paper brand won The Best Brand Award of Manufacturing – Paper, celebrating its 22nd anniversary in Malaysia by cementing its position as the country’s top paper brand.
IK Yellow is produced by Asia Pulp and Paper (APP), the creators of TRUTONE technology, a breakthrough in inkjet printing. It is a multi-purpose paper which features darker solid black printing result, an absence of mottle, and brighter, sharper images. The technology supports a higher colour range with no bleeding, as well as controlled ink absorption and fast ink drying.
On the back of TRUTONE technology, IK Yellow has set itself apart from the market as a premium performance paper with exceptional image quality, sharp and clear document reproduction and has become Malaysia’s No.1 choice.
IK Yellow has evolved alongside the changing needs of the generations of Malaysian consumers it continues to serve. This drive to improve quality, distribution and hence sales, were key factors in the brand being honoured by The Brand Laureate.
“We are proud to receive The Best Brand Award as vindication for the work that we’ve put in to build on what is already recognised as a premium product from a quality brand. Our gratitude to the trade partners and loyal consumers for their continuous support, by trusting IK Yellow for more than 20 years to fulfil their printing and copying needs,” said Alex Foong, National Sales Manager – PPC.
“IK Yellow has a drive for excellence that will continue to see the brand improve.”
Sustainability is a key facet of IK Yellow and APP, with policies set in place to ensure continued environmental protection of forests in Indonesia, even as the quality premium paper continues to be produced to meet global demands.
Back in 2012, APP launched its Sustainability Roadmap Vision (SRV) 2020, a strategy placing sustainability at the heart of its operations. Its Roadmap details key policies that have been implemented to drive sustainable production. These include a strict Zero Burning Policy across all its operations since 1996, a commitment to the conservation of biodiversity in lands it operates in, and also policies aimed at reducing poverty and driving inclusive social-economic progress in Indonesia.
One key policy that has caught the attention of consumers is APP’s commitment to using 100% plantation wood in its productions process. This commitment ensures that all raw paper material – fibre – is produced from plantations, and not from the cutting down of forests.
“We are committed to protecting forests and the environment, and as a company, we aim to develop innovative, environmental-friendly products. Our policies are designed not only to drive sustainable practices but also to ensure that our employees and the communities in and around our areas of operation are well cared for,” said Letchumi Achanah from Asia Pulp & Paper, also present at the Awards.
IK Yellow continues to be Malaysia’s No.1 choice of consumers in printing and copying paper in Malaysia and will continue to evolve with consumers, engaging them across the digital channels they now prefer.
